UltraProlink has launched Fire Shield, a fire-resistant safety bag designed for storing and transporting power banks, lithium-ion batteries and other valuables, amid growing focus on battery safety during air travel.
The company said the new product is designed to provide an additional layer of protection for power banks, lithium batteries, LiPo batteries and portable battery packs. Beyond electronics, the pouch can also be used to store passports, bank cards, jewellery, important documents and other personal valuables.
The Fire Shield is designed to accommodate compatible power banks up to 25,000mAh, along with portable battery packs and lithium-ion batteries. The launch comes as aviation regulators and airlines continue to tighten rules around the handling and transportation of lithium battery-powered devices due to potential fire risks.
The Fire Shield features a three-layer construction comprising silicone-coated fibreglass, fibreglass fabric and an aluminium foil inner layer, according to UltraProlink. The company said the product’s safety performance has been verified through SGS and UL94 standards. The bag also includes a LiPo-safe thermal shield and fire-resistant stitching designed to help reduce the spread of fire caused by battery-related incidents. It also features a water-resistant dual-closure design intended to provide protection against moisture and accidental spills. UltraProlink stressed that while Fire Shield is engineered to reduce risks associated with battery fires, it does not guarantee complete fire containment and should not be considered a replacement for established fire-safety practices.
