LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) on Saturday evening declared the final selection result for the 2025 Home Guard recruitment drive, with 41,424 candidates selected against vacancies across all 75 districts of the state. Of the 41,424 selected candidates, 8,502 are from the unreserved category, including 6,950 candidates under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS). Another 21,580 belong to the Other Backward Classes (OBC), 10,932 to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and 410 to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category. The selection list includes 8,290 women candidates.
The recruitment board said Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology was used during the running test to assess candidates and automatically record their timings. Selection was made according to district-wise merit against the advertised vacancies and in accordance with the reservation policy and applicable provisions issued by the Uttar Pradesh government from time to time. The final result and district-wise list of selected candidates have been uploaded on the recruitment board’s official website. Extensive CCTV surveillance was also deployed at written examination centres, DV/PST centres and PET venues. Live feeds from the venues were monitored in real time through control rooms at both the district and recruitment-board levels. The final selection was prepared on the basis of candidates’ normalised written examination scores and additional marks awarded for preferential qualifications supported by documents submitted with their applications. The final district-wise list of selected candidates is available on the UPPRPB website.
As many as 25,32,196 candidates had submitted online applications for the Home Guard posts. After objections were raised against the provisional answer keys and the board conducted a review through multiple panels of subject experts, the final answer key was released on June 25, 2026. Based on written examination scores and district-wise vacancies, 1,07,221 candidates were called for DV/PST between July 13 and August 7. Of them, 94,169 candidates qualified for the next stage. The PET was subsequently conducted from September 15 to September 26, with 79,186 candidates declared successful.
