The police have registered a case under sections 309 (robbery) and 291 (negligent conduct with respect to animal) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). In the early hours of Sept 30, he was returning home when he met one of the three accused.

An officer from Bibvewadi police said the complainant owns a four-wheeler service station. An argument broke out after the complainant addressed him by his name instead of calling him “bhau”. The victim approached Bibvewadi police on Thursday and lodged a complaint.

“The complainant initially told his parents that he had met with an accident. He took treatment for the dog bites and then approached us,” the officer said. The trio took the complainant to a locality in Bibvewadi and assaulted him again. When a local resident came to the complainant’s aid, the trio also assaulted him. One of the three accused then dropped the complainant near his scooter, from where they had picked him.
