Chennai: A 28-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for strangling his live-in partner’s son to death in Koyambedu. CMBT police said the boy’s mother, Poovarasi, 28, had been living separately from her husband. During an argument between Poovarasi and Tamilselvan on Sept 29, he abused the boy and threatened to kill him.
Later that night, Tamilselvan allegedly called Poovarasi and told her that he had killed her son and kept the body under the cot. Police said Tamilselvan has three previous criminal cases, including a murder case.
About four months ago, she befriended Tamilselvan , a painter, and since then, the two had been living with the boy at New Colony.
