Bengaluru: A petty argument over poorly cooked food took a gruesome turn late Saturday night when a painter stabbed a 22-year-old carpenter to death at an under-construction building in Kenchenahalli, south Bengaluru.

Around 11.30pm, a heavily drunk Sunil returned to the building and picked a fight with Amit, hurling abuse and berating him over the quality of the dinner prepared.

Sunil and three carpenters from Gorakhpur were employed at the under-construction site and were staying together on the premises, according to cops. The deceased has been identified as Amit Kumar , a carpenter hailing from Gorakhpur , Uttar Pradesh . Police have taken the accused, Sunil Kumar , into custody and are interrogating him.
