Woman, lover get life term for husband’s murder
Bijnor: A local court in Amroha has sentenced a woman and her lover to life imprisonment for murdering her husband in Mandi Dhanaura in Oct 2022. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 each on the convicts. The postmortem report confirmed strangulation as the cause of death.
Additional district govt counsel (ADGC) Manoj Saxena, who represented the prosecution, said, “Both convicts, who were out on bail, were taken into judicial custody and sent to jail after the verdict. Based on Shakuntala’s complaint, police registered an FIR and subsequently filed a chargesheet after recording statements of nine witnesses and collecting other evidence. After examining the evidence, the additional sessions judge of the Special SC/ST Act court convicted Neetu and Arif of murder and sentenced them to life imprisonment.
On the night of the murder, Omkar’s mother, Shakuntala , reached the spot after hearing his screams. Arif allegedly fled on seeing her, while neighbours rushed Omkar to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
