Ahmedabad: A 65-year-old security guard succumbed to injuries on Sunday, three days after an AMTS bus allegedly hit his electric two-wheeler while he was on his way to hospital. On the afternoon of Oct 1, he was riding his electric motorcycle towards Shardaben Hospital. His condition deteriorated and he died on Sunday (Oct 4).
Police registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the driver and determine how the collision occurred. Devda was passing the Shardaben Hospital circle when an AMTS bus allegedly rammed into his two-wheeler, according to the complaint. The deceased, Shivshankar Devda, a resident of Satyam Flats in Bapunagar, worked as a security guard at a diamond trader’s office in Manpasand Chambers. He suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Civil Hospital, where he remained under treatment. Devda’s son subsequently approached E-Division traffic police and lodged a complaint against the unidentified AMTS bus driver. Download the TOI App.
