Lucknow: BJP and RSS functionaries met on Monday to prepare a blueprint for politically important Kashi and Gorakhpur regions ahead of the Assembly elections.
RSS is said to be stressing that Yogi be pitched as a key face of the saffron parivar against the opposition, primarily Samajwadi Party and its ally Congress. Sources said Sangh wants the narrative of “strong law and order” and development initiatives of Yogi govt to be taken to the villages and communities across the state. Experts said the latest BJP-RSS coordination meeting suggests that the party aims to move beyond the broad electoral messaging while focusing on organisational preparedness.
The meeting, chaired by RSS Sah-Karyawah Arun Kumar , was attended by top BJP functionaries, including party national general secretary (organization) BL Santhosh, UP BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary and state general secretary (organization) Dharampal Singh. Many senior RSS functionaries of the rank of vibhag pracharaks and above also attended. Recent internal reviews of BJP have underscored not only the need for booth-level strength and mobilisation of voters but also electoral weaknesses and the need to counter the opposition and consolidate its key support base.
This, experts said, is seen as a key strategy of BJP to counter the opposition’s PDA narrative.
