Chitradurga: Three people, including the car driver, were killed and two others seriously injured after a car rammed a truck on National Highway-48 near Kasturi Rangappanahalli in Hiriyur taluk on Tuesday evening.
The deceased have been identified as car driver Shashidhar,22, from Yelburga taluk in Koppal district, Manjunath ,22, from Madikeri village in Kushtagi taluk, and Basavaraj ,21, from Nidasesi village. Stay updated with the latest Hubballi news.
The five friends were travelling from Bengaluru to Kushtagi when the accident occurred, according to police. A tyre of the truck burst, causing the vehicle to suddenly veer to the left. The car, which was following the truck, then crashed into it. Hiriyur subdivision DSP Gopalakrishna and Hiriyur Rural police inspector KN Chandrashekar, along with their staff, reached the spot and cleared the vehicles involved in the accident to restore traffic. Hanumesh,22, and Praveen Sedisesi,20, both from Nidasesi village, sustained serious injuries and were admitted to the Hiriyur govt hospital.
