Dasara yogasana competition would be held on Oct 16 at P Kalinga Rao Hall at Dasara Exhibition Grounds
Deputy director of land records and Yoga Dasara Sub-Committee special officer Ramya said health minister UT Khader would inaugurate Yoga Dasara at 10am on Oct 14 at Mysuru Medical College Alumni Hall, JK Grounds. District AYUSH officer Dr Renuka Devi said a state-level Dasara yogasana competition would be held on Oct 16 at P Kalinga Rao Hall at Dasara Exhibition Grounds. Already more than 334 participants from across the state have registered for the competition. There are different age groups starting from 14 years to 65 years. A Rural Yoga Dasara programme will be held on Oct 18 at Govt PU College premises in Nanjangud. Yoga Dasara Sub-Committee working president Niroop Wesley said a Yoga Trekking and Durga Namaskara programme would be organised on Oct 19.
A one-day yoga scientific seminar will also be held at the venue. The trekking will begin at 6am from the foothills of Chamundi Hills and proceed to the temple and conclude with Durga Namaskara Yogasana. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Ramya said experts Dr MU Sujan will deliver a talk on yoga for healthy living, Dr P Sudhakar Reddy will speak on yoga for geriatric population – concepts and evidence, Dr Harish Babu will speak on neural pathways for better results – a practical approach and Dr Arun PG will speak on yoga for pain-free living.
