Prayagraj: After redevelopment, passengers at Prayagraj Junction will be allowed onto platforms only 30 minutes before their train arrives. The same rule will be introduced at Kanpur Central after its revamp.

The first concourse, to be built above the platforms, will be around 72 metres wide, with construction expected to begin after Diwali. Food stalls and other basic facilities will be available inside the concourse, so they won’t need to keep going back and forth to the platforms. The move is aimed at reducing unnecessary crowding on platforms and ensuring smoother movement of passengers and trains. Under the redevelopment plan, Prayagraj Junction will have two large concourses equipped with modern passenger facilities. Passengers can wait in the concourse area instead of staying on the platforms for long. A second concourse will be constructed on the city side of the station. Both concourses will be connected to the platforms through modern lifts and escalators, providing easier access for passengers.
