Lucknow : The UP govt will organise a ‘Special Employment Generation Day’ on Oct 12 under the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) scheme to accelerate employment generation for rural workers and maximise the number of person-days created under the programme.
The VB-G RAM G scheme aims to provide 125 days of unskilled wage employment in a financial year to adult members of rural households while creating durable and useful assets in villages.
Maurya said employment should be provided to workers according to their demand and directed officials to speed up implementation. Rural development commissioner Pramod Kumar Upadhyay said e-muster rolls should be generated in time according to the demand for employment and that the maximum number of eligible workers should actually be deployed at worksites on the special employment day. Deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya , who holds the rural development portfolio, directed officials on Tuesday to ensure that maximum employment is generated on the designated day.
