More than three decades after entering the technology industry, entrepreneur Nick Grewal has added another distinction to his career: the 2026 Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the New Hampshire Tech Alliance, according to a press release by Access Newswire.
Cisco’s own acquisition records confirm that the company announced an agreement to acquire Nashoba Networks on August 6, 1996. In a September 19, 1996 announcement, Cisco said it had completed its purchase of Nashoba Networks and that the transaction followed an August stock-swap agreement. Shares worth approximately $100 million were to be exchanged for all outstanding Nashoba shares and options, according to Cisco. Between 1998 and 2018, he invested in and advised more than 40 companies, many of them based in New Hampshire, according to the Tech Alliance. His next major entrepreneurial chapter began in 2018, when he founded ePropelled. Grewal has led the company as CEO since May 2018, according to ePropelled’s leadership profile. Its UK operations grew after ePropelled acquired ElectronicaUK Ltd in 2018, while its Coventry facility opened in 2022.
Cisco described Nashoba as a privately held company focused on Token Ring switching technologies and said the acquisition would expand its offerings for high-performance switched workgroup and backbone Token Ring networks. Grewal subsequently served as a Cisco vice president, according to his profile published by Smart Business Dealmakers. Before and around that period, Grewal held senior executive positions at companies including Proteon and CrossComm, both of which became publicly traded during his tenure, according to the New Hampshire Tech Alliance. The company has expanded beyond its original US base. ePropelled currently has operations, engineering and production facilities in the US, UK and India, according to its investor-relations information.
The deal was completed the following month. The Nashoba chapter was only one part of a broader technology career. After the Cisco acquisition, Grewal continued working in technology and investment. The company now develops electric propulsion and energy-management technologies for air, land and water applications, with a particular focus on uncrewed systems.
