Russia’s defence ministry said on Wednesday that its forces carried out a “massive strike”

The ministry said the strikes involved land-, sea- and air-launched weapons as well as drones.

Russia’s defence ministry said on Wednesday that its forces carried out a “massive strike” on military-industrial facilities in Kyiv and several other Ukrainian regions using high-precision weapons and drones. It said targets included facilities operated by Fire Point in Kyiv, where Flamingo cruise missiles and medium- and long-range drones are allegedly manufactured and stored. Strikes also hit military-industrial sites in the Kyiv, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava and Kharkiv regions, according to Reuters, according to the ministry. Two people were killed in an attack on Kyiv on Wednesday, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said, as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned of a possible “massive strike” targeting the capital, AFP reported. He said Ukraine’s military was ready to respond “to the extent that our defence systems allow”.

Zelenskyy had urged residents to remain alert after receiving intelligence about preparations for a major Russian attack.
