Rating: 2.5 out of 5 Review: Based on the timeless love story from the Mahabharata, Nala Damayanti follows King Nala and Damayanti as their love is put to the ultimate test by Kali, the embodiment of human vice. Written by Gaurav Jakhu, the play brings together verse and prose dialogue, physical movement, choreography, sound and light to recreate the world of the mythological tale. Among these elements, Sameer Kulkarni’s original score stands out, transporting the audience to the era and adding an evocative layer to the storytelling. Gaurav Jakhu’s portrayal of Kali brings an imposing presence to the character, backed by an immaculate voice and assured acting. As the central couple, Imran Pasha as Nala and Rashmi Vadavi as Damayanti bring chemistry that helps establish the emotional core of the play. the combination of music, movement and acting gives the production enough visual and emotional appeal to hold attention While the ending was predictable.
