The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Hyderabad: Denying allegations that he made threatening gestures towards another MLA Kadiyam Srihari, BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy has submitted a written explanation to the assembly ethics committee regarding allegations about his conduct during House proceedings.

He requested the complete, unedited video footage, including both on-record and off-record recordings from March 29, 2026, along with the full transcript of the proceedings. He claimed that the allegations against him are “false, distorted, and taken out of context”. He denied accusations that he pointed a finger at Srihari and threatened him with statements such as, “I will see your end” or “I will deal with you. He also rejected allegations that he used body language resembling pointing a gun and threatening to “shoot”. The BRS leader said when he questioned why Kadiyam Srihari was sitting with the ruling party benches despite being elected on a BRS ticket, Srihari allegedly used abusive language against him. Kaushik Reddy said that the assembly witnessed heated exchanges between both sides, including slogan-shouting, mutual allegations, and members entering the well of the House.

In his explanation, Kaushik Reddy stated that he neither made any threatening remarks nor used threatening gestures toward Kadiyam Srihari during the assembly sessions. Kaushik Reddy alleged that the video clip provided to him by the ethics committee was only a selective two-minute excerpt and did not represent the full incident. He further demanded that the comments, gestures, and interactions involving Kadiyam Srihari and treasury bench members also be shown in their entirety without any omissions. He maintained that his own remarks were merely a response to those comments. He argued that his gestures should not be viewed in isolation from the overall atmosphere and context of the proceedings. He requested an opportunity to submit additional material, written explanations, or oral arguments after obtaining further records and information from the assembly secretariat.
