CU Denver to set up India campus in Hyd, 1st batch in Aug 2027
Established in 1973 and governed by the University of Colorado Board of Regents, CU Denver currently serves approximately 14,000 students. The university has a global alumni network of more than 100,000 graduates spread across more than 100 countries.

Hyderabad: India is set to get its first public American university, with the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) receiving a Letter of Intent (LoI) from the University Grants Commission (UGC) to establish a campus in Hyderabad. “This marks an important step in bringing globally relevant education closer to students in India.
CU Denver’s focus on applied learning, interdisciplinary education and career readiness is particularly relevant to the aspirations of today’s students and the needs of a rapidly evolving workforce.
The Hyderabad campus will be the first campus of a foreign university in Telangana and is expected to welcome its first batch of students in Aug 2027.
The India campus will build on CU Denver’s strengths as a public urban research university, with an emphasis on academic quality, student outcomes, applied learning, social mobility and workforce relevance, according to university officials. However, the university is yet to finalise the location of the campus.
