Nagpur: Three men allegedly abused and assaulted a 35-year-old man after a dispute over a parked car at Ram Nagar Chowk late Sunday night. The incident is the latest in a series of road rage cases reported in the city over the past few days, mostly linked to parked vehicles.
The incident occurred around 11 p.m. near a grocery shop on a road in the Ambazari police station area. Three similar incidents were reported on Sept 20.
The complainant, Rahul Kanojia , was travelling with his wife in their car from Telankhedi towards Gokulpeth after visiting relatives, police said. One of the accused, Prince Bhanuse, has a previous offence registered against him at Tehsil police station. Two of Kanojia’s relatives from Indore were also in the car. A parked four-wheeler allegedly blocked their way. After Kanojia reportedly honked to clear the path, three men, including Bhanuse, allegedly got out of the parked vehicle and began abusing him. Ambazari police registered a case against three persons under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to causing hurt, criminal intimidation, intentional insult and acts committed by multiple persons with a common intention. A man was assaulted with a rod in Pachpaoli limits at Siddharth Nagar–Teka over a parking dispute, while a youth was hit on the head after a minor collision near Tilak Putla in the Ganeshpeth police station limits. In Gittikhadan, a man who objected to a two-wheeler parked in the middle of the road was struck with a brick.
