Addressing a review meeting of elected representatives and department heads of local bodies in Pathanamthitta, the minister said the department is intervening directly at the grassroots level. Officials said QR-code systems at all stopovers, allowing pilgrims to submit complaints and suggestions and access emergency services, are also under consideration. The minister said all arrangements by local bodies will be completed before the high-level review meeting at Pamba chaired by the chief minister. He said govt’s aim is a complaint-free, model pilgrimage season.
Stopover centres will be upgraded from mere rest points into information hubs, providing details of distances, travel options, emergency helpline numbers, and nearby hospitals and eateries. Kottayam : Local self-govt minister K M Shaji on Thursday said the department and district administrations are fully prepared to provide pilgrims with smooth and safe facilities during the Sabarimala Mandala–Makaravilakku season.
