The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Hyderabad: BRS will celebrate 10 years of the formation of new districts on Oct 10 and 11. The BRS govt had created new districts in 2016. He said that the number of districts was increased from 10 to 33, thereby bringing administration closer to the people.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao recalled that administrative decentralisation was one of the key objectives of the Telangana movement and that the KCR govt undertook administrative reforms to bring governance closer to the people.

He stated that the formation of new districts fulfilled the long-standing aspirations of the people and changed the situation in which residents previously had to travel 100–150 kilometres to reach district headquarters.

He said priority was given to developing infrastructure, govt offices, healthcare and educational facilities at the district level. Each district should highlight its own unique success stories and extensive publicity should be given to the programmes through local media and social media platforms,” he said. KTR said that the formation of districts was not merely an administrative reorganisation, but part of an effort to bring development, welfare and infrastructure closer to people in accordance with regional needs.

“The changes in the districts should be explained to people through a ‘Then–Now’ comparison.
