Patel said AMC has 243 water tanks, each of which is required to be cleaned twice a year according to a fixed schedule. So far, 96 tanks have been cleaned as per schedule. Standing committee chairman Kamlesh Patel said the policy, introduced last month, allows citizens to apply online for tree trimming services.
“An online collection module has been included in the policy so citizens can pay the prescribed charge and receive a receipt directly on the spot,” Patel said. The decision was taken at Thursday’s standing committee meeting while reviewing the implementation of the civic body’s Tree Trimming and Green Waste Collection policy. He added that instructions had been issued to make the facility operational immediately to prevent inconvenience to residents. The committee also reviewed the cleaning of water tanks across the city. Officials have been instructed to ensure regular cleaning and continuous monitoring of the work.
