Palaniswami said murders and violent incidents were taking place in streets across the state, likening the situation to scenes in Vijay’s movies. Flagging sexual assault cases involving a newly married woman in Mayiladuthurai, where he alleged police inaction on her complaint, and a six-year-old girl in Chennai, Palaniswami said the law and order situation had hit a new low during TVK’s five months in office. Those who voted for TVK hoping for a change and a better future were now shocked to see bloodshed on the roads, he said.
He referred to the murder of a man in Chennai a couple of days ago after he questioned a group of people who had allegedly harassed his daughter. Palaniswami demanded that the chief minister use the police force to restore law and order in the state. Download the TOI App.
