Jhansi : The Election Commission of India has approved 353 polling stations for the 2026 biennial election to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council from Allahabad-Jhansi Graduates’ constituency, returning officer and Jhansi divisional commissioner Bimal Kumar Dubey said.
Prayagraj will have the highest number of polling stations at 152, followed by Jhansi with 47, Jalaun with 33, Fatehpur with 25, Banda with 22, Kaushambi with 21, Hamirpur with 18, Lalitpur with 13, Chitrakoot with 13, and Mahoba with nine, according to the approved list. The Allahabad-Jhansi Graduates’ constituency covers 10 districts: Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Fatehpur, Chitrakoot, Banda, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jalaun, Jhansi and Lalitpur. Dubey said the ECI approved the proposals for the polling stations, and the finalised list has been sent to all the concerned districts and political parties. Fifteen candidates, including two women, are in the fray. Two candidates are being fielded by the Bharatiya Janata Party and Samajwadi Party , while the rest are independent candidates. The BJP has nominated Ashok Kumar Rathore from Jalaun district as its candidate, while the SP has fielded Man Singh Yadav, the sitting MLC from Prayagraj. Download the TOI App.
