Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh cabinet on Friday approved a proposal to continue the procurement

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh cabinet on Friday approved a proposal to continue the procurement of Shree Anna (millets) under the Kharif Marketing Season 2026-27 till Dec 31.

Food and civil supplies minister Manoj Kumar Pandey said the MSP had been fixed at ₹4,073 per quintal for Maldandi jowar, ₹4,023 for hybrid jowar, ₹2,900 for bajra and ₹2,410 for maize. State govt has set a procurement target of 2.20 lakh metric tonnes of bajra, 50,000 metric tonnes of jowar and 15,000 metric tonnes of maize for the season. Pandey said procurement will be carried out through designated centres, including 300 centres for bajra, 80 for jowar and 75 for maize. CM Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure that payments are transferred directly to farmers’ Aadhaar-linked bank accounts within 48 hours of procurement. Farmers can seek assistance through the toll-free helpline 1800-180-0150 or by contacting district food marketing officers, regional marketing officers or marketing inspectors. Maize procurement will be undertaken in 25 districts, including Bulandshahr, Badaun, Hardoi, Unnao, Mainpuri, Agra, Firozabad, Aligarh, Etah, Kasganj, Hathras, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Etawah, Auraiya, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Bahraich, Gonda, Deoria, Ballia, Jaunpur, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra and Lalitpur. Bajra procurement will be carried out in 33 districts, including Bulandshahr, Rampur, Sambhal, Amroha, Bareilly, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Agra, Mathura, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Aligarh, Etah, Kasganj, Hathras, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Auraiya, Kannauj, Ballia, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Fatehpur, Jalaun, Chitrakoot and Hamirpur. Jowar procurement will be undertaken in 13 districts: Banda, Chitrakoot, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Fatehpur, Unnao, Hardoi, Mirzapur, Jalaun, Jhansi and Firozabad.
