John Paul DeJoria , co-founder of John Paul Mitchell Systems and Patrón Spirits, has sold Patrón de Paz, his ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas, for $6.93 million. The property covers roughly 96 acres, about 25 miles outside Austin, and includes a four-bedroom main house of about 7,500 square feet, a swimming pool and two barns. About 120 exotic animals, among them wildebeest, oryx, gazelle and antelope, were included in the price. The ranch also has a 2,700-square-foot underground bomb shelter stocked with food and water. DeJoria sold the ranch for $6.93 million, a figure given by listing agent Dave Murray, according to The Wall Street Journal. The Journal reports that the ranch first went on the market in 2015 for $7.995 million, and the price was later reduced to $7.495 million. The ranch is home to about 120 exotic animals, including wildebeest, oryx, gazelle and antelope. DeJoria also built a 2,700-square-foot underground bomb shelter. DeJoria co-founded the hair products company John Paul Mitchell Systems in 1980 and went on to become one of the creators of Patrón, a premium tequila company.

Because he has homes all over the world, including another on nearby Lake Travis, and was not using the ranch much, sellers told the newspaper that DeJoria decided to sell.

Murray told the newspaper that the animals were included in the sale price. The buyer is Jonathan Nowzaradan, an Austin-based television producer, who told the Journal he plans to move to the ranch. Nowzaradan told the newspaper that the space could be used as a game room or for other purposes.

The buyer, Austin-based television producer Jonathan Nowzaradan, plans to move there. The ranch is named Patron de Paz after DeJoria’s liquor company. The property was sold fully furnished. Murray, of the DMTX Realty Group at Coldwell Banker United, held the listing together with Gregg Sellers of Horizon Realty. He described the experience of living there as feeling “like you’re on an African safari. The three-bedroom space is stocked with food and water.
