Factory owner dies after clash over foul smell, smoke; 4 held
Meerut : A 47-year-old rubber tyre-melting factory owner died after he and his nephew were allegedly beaten with lathis by a group of men following a dispute over foul smell and smoke from the unit in Kalahredi village under Gangoh police station limits in Saharanpur late Friday. An FIR was registered under Section 103 of the BNS for murder against Neeraj Kumar and others.
SP (rural) Mayank Pathak said police took Chauhan to the district hospital after receiving information about the clash, but he succumbed to his injuries. “Police have arrested four accused and formed three teams to trace the remaining suspects,” Pathak said. CCTV footage circulating on social media purportedly shows nearly a dozen men armed with lathis attacking Chauhan and Sadiq as they got out of their car after entering the factory premises. The four arrested accused have been sent to jail.
