Kochi : The district planning committee (DPC) meeting approved revisions to the 2026–27 annual plans of 31 local bodies. Health grant projects submitted by nine local bodies were also cleared.
As part of the state govt’s ‘Nirmalam Puthuyuga Suchithwa Keralam’ campaign, he instructed that coordination committees be formed in all local bodies by Wednesday, and ward-level committees by Oct 17, to intensify sanitation activities. He said a one-day workshop would be held on Oct 24 under the leadership of the DPC, with the participation of local chairpersons, officials, and elected representatives, to introduce timely updates to the planning guidelines of the 15th Five-Year Plan and to carry out local bodies’ responsibilities with greater clarity. He also said district-level officials must attend DPC meetings without fail. He directed local self-governing institutions that are lagging in plan spending to take urgent steps to utilise the funds. Local administrators and district-level officials should oversee this. Download the TOI App.
