Navi Mumbai: A 44-year-old man wanted by Buldhana police in a triple murder case after killing his mother, elder brother and nephew over their land dispute was apprehended by the Panvel traffic unit police. Subhash Pujari, senior inspector of Panvel traffic unit, said that during police bandobast for streamlining traffic movement near Panvel ST bus depot on Friday, around 7 pm, a man with a hand injury was spotted loitering suspiciously. When asked about his visit to Panvel, he revealed that he had fled from his home after killing his mother Saraswati (75), elder brother Sanjay (48) and nephew Rajit (21) over their land dispute.
When grilled, he revealed his name as Deepak Fatesingh Suradkar, a resident of Somthana, Chikhali taluka, Buldhana district. When contacted, police inspector Bhushan Gawande of Chikhli police station and Buldhana local crime branch confirmed that a triple murder case was registered against Suradkar at Chikhli police station and that he had absconded. He was detained for inquiry, when he refused to reveal his name and address.
The police were keeping a vigil near Panvel ST bus depot as a part of police bandobast for Navratri festival on Friday evening.
The information was also provided to the accused’s father-in-law identified as Siddheshwar Rangnath Vayal (65), a resident of Waghala, in Sindkhed taluka, Buldhana district.
Pujari said, “The information was provided to DCP (traffic) Rahul Khade and as per his instruction, the detained Suradkar’s medical examination was conducted at Panvel sub-district hospital and handed over to Panvel city police. Thereafter, the investigation team of Chikhli police station and Buldhana Local Crime Branch came to Panvel City police station and took the custody of the murder accused Suradkar and they took him to Buldhana for further investigation. ”
