Lucknow: Three sisters who had left home after being repeatedly scolded by their father over their studies were traced by police at Charbagh railway station nearly 24 hours later and reunited with their family.

The sisters, aged 18, 19 and 21, left their home after a dispute with their father and boarded a train to Varanasi, according to police.

She said the sisters had decided to leave home and travel to Varanasi after becoming distressed by the situation. The eldest sister further told police that after returning to Lucknow, they stayed at the railway station as they were afraid to return home. She added that they had exhausted the money they were carrying.

Police brought the three sisters to Hazratganj police station, provided them with food, counselled them, and reassured them before informing their family. Soon afterwards, their parents arrived at the police station and were reunited with their daughters. After counselling both the sisters and their parents, police advised the family to resolve disputes through dialogue and urged the girls to seek help rather than leaving home without informing anyone. The sisters were later handed over safely to their family.
