CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke
We will soon return to the streets,” Dipke said, reiterating his resolve to continue the protest despite the police action. “At around 3.30am, the police brought the arrest papers to me and pressured me to sign them, saying that I would be in jail for a long time and should call my parents and inform them,” he claimed, describing the episode as mental harassment of both him and his family. Claiming that the move was intended to protect male officers from allegations of misconduct, Dipke said he and his associates were educated and knew how to treat women with respect.
Speaking to the reporters following his recent arrest, Dipke accused the Delhi Police of mentally harassing him, violating his fundamental rights and preventing him from contacting his lawyer and family. “We will continue our agitation until Narendra Modi’s dictatorship ends. Abhijeet alleged that Delhi Police violated his legal rights during his arrest by denying him access to his lawyer and brother. He challenged police to release the complete, unedited video of the arrest, claiming authorities withheld his whereabouts and details of the police station where he was detained from his family and legal representatives for an entire day. Abhijeet also alleged that the police subjected him to mental harassment at a time when his grandmother had died. He also criticised the police for allegedly deploying women personnel during the arrest. His allegations against Delhi Police could not be independently verified.
Because of this govt, Abhijeet could not see his grandmother for the last time,” she said.
Dipke’s mother, Anita, said the family would never forget how the govt’s actions prevented her son from seeing his grandmother for the last time. “We will not forget this until our last breath.
