Kolkata: Calcutta High Court on Tuesday refused an urgent hearing to Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee ’s plea for a directive against alleged dissemination of information by cops facilitating “media trials”. “Before vacation, nothing is possible…There’s no urgency,” the judge observed. Senior advocate Ayan Bhattacharjee mentioned the plea before Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya after Justice Krishna Rao refused to hear it as he was not hearing police matters. Justice Bhattacharyya held that the matter will be taken in the Dec list, to which Bhattacharjee pleaded urgency. Download the TOI App.
