Meerut : A 34-year-old man from Baghpat has allegedly killed two friends within a span of two years. Manoj Kashyap, who was married in 2018 and has two children, strangled Pushpendra Singh while drinking at a farm on Saturday night.
The reason: They were talking about his wife in an “objectionable way”.
The accused tried to make it look like a road accident, police said. CCTV footage also corroborated it, police said. Pushpendra’s body was found in a sugarcane field the next morning.
But CCTV footage and surveillance revealed Kashyap’s involvement and he was arrested after a brief encounter on Monday evening in which a bullet hit his leg, police said, adding that he later confessed to the crime. Meanwhile, Pushpendra’s younger brother Kuldeep Panwar said that the two were friends and they’d left on Saturday night for a drink. Kashyap, a daily-wager, was produced before the court on Tuesday.
