At its latest announcement on October 13, 2026, the company expanded its Dell AI Data Platform with a Unified Semantic Layer, an Enterprise Knowledge Graph and Knowledge Agents. The updates aim to help AI systems interpret business terms, identify relationships between information, retrieve relevant data, and follow access controls. Dell plans to release the three capabilities in the first half of 2027. Dell said its Data Processing Engine, powered by NVIDIA cuDF and NVIDIA RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs, processed data nearly four times faster on average than CPU-only systems in internal testing. The company reported up to 20x improvements for certain batch-processing workloads. Nvidia expects to deliver acceleration-based processing enhancements in December 2026, with further Apache Arrow integration planned for the first half of 2027. Dell PowerScale will also receive security and storage updates, including support for up to 500 tenants in a single cluster, encrypted file traffic and more granular access controls. These enhancements are scheduled for November 2026.
Dell Technologies has announced new tools to help AI agents understand business data and connect information across enterprise systems. Dell has also announced improvements to data processing and storage security, along with services to help businesses deploy AI infrastructure. Dell’s new Unified Semantic Layer helps AI agents consistently understand business terminology across systems.
For example, it can help an agent recognise that one database’s “client” and another’s “account” may refer to the same concept. The Enterprise Knowledge Graph maps relationships between business data, helping AI agents connect information from different sources. Knowledge Agents use this context to provide guidance on specific topics, with businesses setting rules for data access, quality requirements and spending limits.
The tools are designed to reduce the work required to prepare data for AI applications while maintaining access controls. However, the main context-building features will not arrive until 2027. Businesses evaluating Dell’s updated platform will need to consider the availability timelines alongside their AI deployment plans. The Dell Storage Performance Tool, designed to assess S3-compatible storage across AI training and inference workloads, is available now. The announcements address a practical challenge in enterprise AI: helping agents understand business data and how information across systems connects. You use AI every day. Now get your AI Quotient.
