The latest rollout adds support for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, NBA 2K27, and several other games, along with performance improvements to its existing graphics technologies. The company introduced a new, faster AI model for DLSS 5 that can boost frame rates in NBA 2K27 by up to 1.4x, plus a beta Performance Mode for DLSS 4.5 Frame Generation that can improve performance across hundreds of supported games and apps. Nvidia has announced new DLSS updates for PC gamers.

Nvidia says the change can increase frame rates, although it may involve minor trade-offs in image quality. On a GeForce RTX 5060, the new mode can deliver up to 35% faster performance, according to the company. It is available for GeForce RTX 40 Series and RTX 50 Series graphics cards, as well as RTX Spark laptops. Users can access the feature through the Nvidia app beta by enabling experimental features and selecting Preset C under the DLSS Override model settings. Users can apply the option to individual supported games or globally across their game library. Nvidia is also updating DLSS 5, its graphics technology based on 3D-guided neural rendering. The updated AI model will arrive in NBA 2K27 with Season 2 on October 16. According to Nvidia, the new model can increase frame rates by up to 1.4 times on GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards, RTX Spark laptops and GeForce NOW. DLSS 5 uses AI to enhance lighting and material details in rendered scenes. In NBA 2K27, the technology improves player skin details, hair rendering, contact shadows, and lighting. Nvidia says the DLSS 5 model is now 10 times faster overall compared with the model introduced in March. The company also plans to bring DLSS 5 to Hogwarts Legacy on November 5 and Where Winds Meet later this year. Support is also scheduled to arrive in RTX Remix, Nvidia’s modding platform, on October 23. Alongside the updates to major titles, Nvidia has announced DLSS support for several other games. This includes Among the Trolls: Launches on October 14 with DLSS Super Resolution and ray tracing. Crossout Remastered: Receives a DLSS 4.5 update on October 22, alongside a move to DirectX 12 and visual improvements. Permafrost: Available in Early Access with DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Multi Frame Generation. Gear.Club Unlimited 3: Available on PC with DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, ray tracing and path tracing. Pax Autocratica: Supports DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, Frame Generation and Multi Frame Generation in Early Access.

The feature, labelled Preset C, replaces the second AI model used in the frame generation process with a faster, lighter algorithm. ARC Raiders: Its Frozen Trail update adds new content, while supported Nvidia technologies help improve frame rates and responsiveness.

What Nvidia’s DLSS updates mean for gamers

Here’s what the latest Nvidia DLSS announcements mean for users. Nvidia has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will support its DLSS 4.5 package starting October 16, 2026, when campaign early access launches for those who pre-order the title. 23. DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution will improve image quality while speeding up gameplay. Players with GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics cards will also have access to DLSS 4.5 Frame Generation, while RTX 50 Series users can enable Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, which can multiply frames by up to 6X. The game also includes optional ray-traced reflections, which can add visual detail to environments. Nvidia says players can enable its Reflex technology across supported GeForce RTX systems to reduce PC latency and make gameplay more responsive. These features aim to balance visual quality and performance, especially at higher settings. Nvidia has released a beta version of a new Performance Mode for DLSS 4.5 Frame Generation, Multi Frame Generation and Dynamic Frame Generation through the Nvidia app. The latest announcements focus on improving performance and image quality without requiring users to rely solely on more powerful hardware.

The updates also bring new graphics features to upcoming and existing titles, including ray tracing, improved image quality and frame generation. Multiplayer and DMZ modes will arrive at full launch on Oct. Frame Generation can create additional frames to make supported games appear smoother, while Super Resolution uses AI to reconstruct images at higher output resolutions. However, the benefits depend on the game, graphics card, and settings used. Some features are limited to particular GPU generations, and the new Performance Mode may slightly affect image quality in exchange for higher frame rates. For GeForce RTX users, the updates expand the number of games that can use Nvidia’s graphics technologies while adding more options to balance performance and visual detail.
