Device kept inside box
The incident came to light on Oct 12 when the woman, employed as a child caretaker, noticed a box with a hole in it, in the wash room for domestic staff. Police identified the accused as Sanjukumar Thandi, 21, and Ashok Kumar Yadav , 33, both from Bihar , and workers at the house. Police seized two mobile phones and found that the accused had also created a fake social media account in the woman’s name. On checking the box, she found a mobile phone recording her. She handed the device to the homeowner, Lalithkumar, who lodged a complaint at Anna Nagar police station. Investigators found that they had placed the phone inside the box to record the woman without her knowledge and had been accessing a fake social media account in her name. Police registered a case and arrested the two men. They were produced before a magistrate’s court and remanded in judicial custody.
