Lucknow: Lucknow Development Authority has proposed to restrict new construction within 500 metres on either side of the 106-km Outer Ring Road to create a green belt.
The proposal will be placed before LDA board for approval on Oct 17. LDA Board will consider 17 major proposals, including the proposed Vashisth Nagar housing scheme.
Officials said the move is intended to curb unplanned growth along the corridor and establish a green buffer. If approved, then LDA will issue a formal order to implement the restriction. The Board will also discuss land acquisition linked to the planned IT City project.
Another proposals are raising flood protection charges by 15-20%. Officials said the revision will boost revenue to fund flood protection-related infrastructure. If cleared, the increase would raise costs associated with development projects and building map approvals within LDA areas. The charges are included in development costs, and the proposed hike could impact builders as well as individual home builders. Download the TOI App.
