Musk showed off Tesla’s new Roadster, a two-person sports car that could go from 0 to 60 mph in a record time of less than a second. He was replying to a Tesla post juxtaposing the 2018 image of the original Roadster in space aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy with a new-generation Roadster featuring integrated cold-gas thrusters from SpaceX.
He said that the car uses suction underneath it to climb up a steep ramp and hang upside down before spinning off the ramp, flipping in the air and using air jets to land. Soon after the demo, Musk shared a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) writing: “My OG Roadster is still orbiting Mars and Earth”. Tesla’s flying car or the next-generation Roadster electric uses 10 nozzles and what Elon Musk described as “ultra high-pressure air tanks” to propel itself, both in the air, and to accelerate quickly when on the ground. He described the technology as “the results of what happens when you have a collaboration with the world’s best car company and the world’s best rocket company.”
Tesla CEO Elon Musk unveiled what it calls a ‘flying car’ at a Texas test facility belonging to SpaceX. “From Roadster in a rocket. To rocket in a Roadster,” Tesla wrote on X. The demo video of Tesla’s flying Car caught the attention of Meta AI head Alexandr Wang. He posted a humorous reaction questioning the driver in a Tesla stunt video: The Tesla live video showed a futuristic car executing extreme nighttime maneuvers including vertical ramp ascents, jumps with blue thrusters, and smoky landings.
