NCP (SP) state president Shashikant Shinde on Friday campaigned for MLC poll in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
Polling for the constituency will be held on Oct 23, while counting is scheduled for Oct 27. Voting will take place across 842 centres in the Marathwada division. Because of health constraints, said graduate voters were discerning and traditionally support deserving candidates rather than being swayed by electoral promises, pawar, who is unlikely to campaign extensively for the election.
In a video message released by party members in the constituency on Friday, Pawar urged voters to give their first-preference vote to the MVA’s official candidate “to address the issues facing graduate youth in Marathwada and advance progress in the education sector”. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar : NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar has raised concerns over rising graduate unemployment, hurdles in competitive exam preparation, recruitment delays, falling higher-education standards, and limited job opportunities in Marathwada, urging voters to elect MVA candidate Pratapsinh Patil from Aurangabad Graduate Constituency. The election has also exposed fault lines within both political alliances. In Mahayuti, Shiv Sena minister Sanjay Shirsat has withdrawn support to Chavan, alleging the possibility of cross-voting by NCP leaders in the Amravati Teachers’ Constituency election against the Sena-backed candidate.
In MVA, NCP (SP) and Shiv Sena (UBT) are effectively contesting against each other despite earlier expectations that Ghuge would withdraw.
