Londhe had been arrested on Oct 25, 2025, in a case registered by Satpur police under multiple provisions of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including attempted murder, extortion, mischief and criminal intimidation. Nashik : Former RPI corporator Prakash Londhe, arrested last year in connection with an attempted murder case and later booked under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), was released from Nashik Road jail after securing bail from Bombay high court.

Investigators later said the attack was linked to an extortion racket targeting cafeteria owners. Police further said the gang maintained influence in its areas of operation through intimidation and organised criminal activities. HC recently granted him conditional bail, following which the court order was forwarded to prison authorities. Charges under the Arms Act, Maharashtra Police Act and MCOCA were also invoked. Based on the probe, Satpur police registered offences against Londhe, his two sons and several associates for attempted murder, extortion and criminal intimidation. Police have identified Londhe as the alleged head of the PL Gang, which they claimed operated through a network of members who acted individually or collectively to carry out extortion and violent crimes using illegal firearms. Following his arrest alongside his two sons, multiple cases were registered against Londhe at different police stations, culminating in the invocation of MCOCA. With his release on bail, the criminal proceedings against him will continue while the case remains under judicial consideration.

A senior police officer confirmed that Londhe was released after completing the bail formalities on Thursday.
