The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Vasava had sought 30-day bail to appear in the examination for semester-1 of the MSW course, but he withdrew this demand and confined it to allowing him to go and meet his ailing brother for three days. The court ordered his one-day release to meet his stepbrother, who is in Surat Civil Hospital in critical condition. Justice V K Vyas of Gujarat High Court on Friday granted one-day bail with police escort to AAP MLA from Dediyapada, Chaitar Vasava, who is serving a seven-year jail term for assault on forest officials and an extortion case.

Bail for man arrested by CBI for call centre con A special CBI court here on Friday granted regular bail to Ankit Pandey, who was arrested by CBI last month in a transnational financial cyberfraud case for allegedly defrauding US nationals of over $7 million through illegal call centres in Gujarat in the past two years. He has been granted bail on a Rs 50,000 bond and on condition of not tampering with evidence and surrendering his passport, said his advocate Amit Nair.

The court said organisers should reduce the volume or stop the event if the noise becomes intolerable. Gujarat High Court on Friday asked the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) to monitor noise levels at a garba venue in Veraval town of Gir-Somnath district for three days and submit a fresh report.

GPCB submitted that adhering to the 45-decibel limit was practically difficult. HC took notice of the lawyer’s expression of regret and accepted his undertaking to donate Rs 1 lakh to a hospital treating cancer patients. A PIL questioned the organisation of a garba event in a silent zone near a hospital. However, the court suggested changing loudspeaker directions or reducing the volume. GPCB had already issued a notice to organisers. HC ordered him to donate the amount to Mangal Jivan Healthcare Pvt Ltd through the court registry.

Gujarat High Court has accepted an unconditional apology from senior counsel Deepak Khosla and dropped suo motu contempt proceedings initiated against him last year over his remarks made against a sitting judge.
