Court Convicts Two Men for Stabbing Incident in Gadhiya Chauraha
On Wednesday, additional sessions judge Kuldeep Singh convicted Mohit Kumar, 28, and Sunny, 27, for the murder of Devendra Kumar, who was stabbed to death at Gadhiya Chauraha on August 25, 2020. The court imposed a fine of ₹2.05 lakh on each of the convicts.
The case originated at the Karhal police station, where authorities registered a complaint following the incident. During the investigation, police arrested the attackers and recovered the knife used in the murder, based on information provided by Mohit Kumar.
Addressing the argument regarding the trigger for the crime, the court observed that while the chole bhature payment dispute served as the immediate backdrop, a proven motive is not strictly necessary when reliable direct evidence and medical reports firmly establish the crime.
the court rejected these claims While the defence argued that there were inconsistencies in witness accounts and questioned the weapon’s recovery. Judge Singh ruled that the combined weight of eyewitness testimony, forensic reports, the site map and medical evidence establishes the defendants’ guilt beyond reasonable doubt.
