The school management confirmed the tragic development.
Police said the bus driver, instead of immediately informing the authorities or attending to the child, allegedly fled, leaving the other schoolchildren inside the vehicle. School operator Guddu told officials that some staff members were supposed to remain on the bus, and police are now ascertaining whether anyone other than the driver was present when the incident took place. The incident took place in Nagla Galua village under jurisdiction of Awagardh police station. Without realising the child’s presence, the driver reversed the bus and she suffered fatal injuries and died at the spot. The bus was subsequently seized by police.
Agra : A five-year-old girl, studying in LKG, died on Saturday after coming under the rear wheel of a school bus while getting off near her home in Etah district.
In a statement, ARTO (Etah) Shivam Yadav said, “The death of the student after she came under a Raj Kamal Public School bus is tragic. “An investigation is underway. The driver, Ravi Kumar, is a resident of Bakalpur. He is currently on the run,” the SHO added. The bus papers are in order, but preliminary investigation has found a shortage of staff on the vehicle. It is mandatory to have a conductor. So, a detailed investigation into the matter is being conducted.”
