Ahmedabad: A 71-year-old resident of the Sola area allegedly suffered a minor injury after being pushed during a society meeting on Wednesday evening. Police said they are verifying the allegations, adding that statements of those present at the meeting will form a crucial part of the investigation. He has also accused a fellow resident of verbally abusing several others and threatening to drive them out. The complainant alleged that during the argument, the accused used abusive language and pushed him, causing him to fall and suffer a minor injury. Other residents, including the complainant’s son and women present, too were verbally abused. The accused brought a stick from his home, and waving it at those present, threatened to assault them. He also threatened to have them evicted from the society. The accused also called the cops after which the complainant, his son and other residents went to the police station. Footage of the brawl captured on the society’s surveillance cameras will also be checked. Download the TOI App.

The complaint states that the society’s general meeting was called around 7pm on Wednesday to discuss issues concerning the premises, including cutting of trees when an argument broke out.
