Police sources said Patel had been financially assisting the watchman’s son with his education. Patel was reportedly sitting on a chair and feeding the birds when an unidentified assailant attacked him with a sharp, sickle-like weapon. He sustained multiple injuries and died at the spot. Investigators are examining whether a financial dispute could have been connected to the killing. They are also checking the watchman’s background, including whether he has any previous criminal record. Patel’s son and daughter live in Australia. Sector-21 police rushed to the scene after being alerted and sent Patel’s body for an autopsy. Police have detained the watchman posted at the premises for questioning as part of the investigation.
