Both sides called the police. Videos of the scuffle have gone viral on social media. Ahmedabad: A scuffle broke out between Youth Congress workers and AMC officials at the civic body’s West Zone office in Usmanpura on Thursday.
Soni said, “Despite a complaint being submitted to Ahmedabad West Zone deputy TDO Maheshkumar Tabiyar a month and a half ago, there has been no proper resolution. An application has been submitted with Navrangpura police,” he said. There are allegations of NSUI spokesperson Harsh Soni being attacked. NSUI and Youth Congress workers went to Tabiyar to make a representation. A scuffle followed. Tabiyar stated, “The applicant had submitted a representation regarding action to be taken against paying guest facilities operating from several locations in Navrangpura in the West Zone. The estate department conducted a site inspection and completed the procedure for issuing notices as per law. After the time specified in these notices expires, implementation takes time. Making aggressive arguments, they called other individuals on the phone to assemble at the office, slammed files on the table, and started issuing threats. As they made allegations, they were asked to leave the office, and police were informed.
This applicant has threatened AMC staff members earlier as well.” On Thursday evening, the applicant came to the zonal office and questioned why the PGs were not being sealed within this timeframe.
