Ahmedabad: The offline admission round for seats in Gujarat’s govt degree engineering colleges ended on Tuesday, with 948 students being allotted seats. Of these, 484 were fresh admissions, while around 165 students secured transfers from other colleges. Despite the exercise, 190 seats remain vacant.
However, All India Council for Technical Education ( AICTE ) extended the admission deadline by one month to Sep 14, prompting the admission committee to conduct a fresh offline round to fill the vacant seats. Around 3,900 students had expressed willingness to participate in the offline round. Admissions for degree engineering had officially been declared complete after five regular rounds. Students in the merit range were called to the venue from 9am until 10pm, and vacant seats were offered based on merit. Details of the vacant seats, including the college-wise availability, are likely to be published on the admission website.

The committee is expected to invite fresh applications from students who have not yet registered but wish to seek admission against the remaining vacancies. Students who have already secured admission elsewhere may also register.
