Ahmedabad: The solid waste management department of AMC’s West Zone inspected 239 units during a three-night drive from Oct 28 to 30, issuing notices to 153 units for violations. During the inspections, officials seized 23kg of banned plastic, sealed 20 units for littering in public places, and collected Rs 2.6 lakh in fines from units found violating banned plastic rules and causing littering.
Navrangpura recorded the highest number of sealed units, with 14 establishments shut by AMC teams. These included Roma Techno, Patel Auto Service, Bhim Batteries and New Lucky Motors near Mithakhali Six Roads, as well as Auto Centre, United Motors, Universal Printers and Best Automobile.
