Assault
The complainant, Sanjaykumar Rathwa (30), lodged a complaint under BNS and provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act with Airport police on Wednesday. Rathwa stated that he is posted with SRPF Group 20, Viramgam, and was guard in charge of a lock-up at the JIC along with three other personnel. The incident occurred around 9.30pm on Tuesday when head constable Hathi Bharwad was posted at the main gate of the SOG centre, according to the complaint.
Ahmedabad: A State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) head constable was allegedly assaulted by a policeman with a plastic pipe following dispute over a chair at special operations group (SOG) Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) near Sardarnagar police station. Another SRPF personnel, Lakshman Kotwal, reportedly witnessed the incident and intervened. Rathwa was taken to Civil Hospital in Asarwa, where doctors treated the injury with six stitches. After he got discharged, Rathwa lodged a police complaint against Bharwad.
