At Shree Khodiyar Gruh Udyog, authorities seized 2,015kg of various food items, including dates, tamarind, and chutney. Additionally, 555kg of substandard ghee was seized from Ganj Bazaar in Madhupura area, bringing the total stock seized to 2,570kg. A total of 2,015 kg of various food items worth Rs 70,800 was seized.
An AMC official said, “An inspection at Shree Khodiyar Gruh Udyog located in Meldi Estate, Gota, found various food products being manufactured under unhygienic conditions. The unit has been sealed. Suspicious samples of date-tamarind chutney, fruit squash, and fruit syrup were collected from the premises and sent to the public laboratory for testing. The official added, “Licences to manufacture and sell food items are mandatory. Additionally, units where food is produced or sold must undertake pest control and get a valid certificate. However, during inspections, several units were found operating without licenses or pest control certificates. Our drive aims to identify and seal such establishments. Teams from the civic body on Monday sealed three units — Bombay Biryani in Navrangpura ward besides Royal Dairy & Sweets in Kalupur, and Aishree Khodiyar Gruh Udyog in Gota ward — found violating food safety norms.
