Gandhinagar : Union home minister Amit Shah celebrated Rakshabandhan on Friday with girls suffering from Type 1 juvenile diabetes. The girls met Shah as part of an initiative in the Gandhinagar parliamentary constituency aimed at ensuring free insulin for children aged up to 18 years diagnosed with Type 1 juvenile diabetes.
In an X post, CM Patel described Rakshabandhan as a festival of the “sacred affection and unbreakable trust” between siblings. In an X post, state BJP president Jagdish Vishwakarma said, “Heartfelt wishes to all on the sacred festival of Raksha Bandhan. The girls tied rakhi to him on the occasion. Shah wished the girls on Rakshabandhan and extended his wishes for their good health and bright future. Chief minister Bhupendra Patel and deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi also extended Rakshabandhan greetings to citizens. He added the festival is an important symbol of family values, cultural traditions and respect for women’s empowerment. State Congress president Amit Chavda and other leaders also extended greetings to citizens on the occasion.
